Storm knocks down power poles on south side

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A storm moved through Pima County Friday, knocking down power lines and causing flooding throughout Tucson.
Tucson Police tell KGUN9 that numerous power poles went down and a transformer is out near Park Avenue and Fair Street.
Police have shut down the entire intersection. Motorists should use alternate routes.
According to Tucson Electric Power's Twitter feed, 200 customers are without power throughout Tucson.
TEP says the will work through the night to restore power. They expect everyone to have the lights turned back on by morning.
TEP says that power poles went down near Irvington Road and Campbell Avenue and Park Avenue and Fair Street.
Police also had to shut down the intersection of Euclid and Sliverlake because of flooded roads.
Golder Ranch Fire Department responded to a swift water rescue in the 1900 block of Rancho Vistoso Boulevard, where a 15-year-old boy was trapped on a sandy island.
Capt. Josh Hurguy with Golder Ranch says the boy wandered off into the wash and was stuck. He was rescued and did not receive any injuries.
