Storm blows off roof of school, power lines cover parking lot
A south side school had parts of its roof blown off during Friday's storm.
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A south side school had parts of its roof blown off during Friday's storm.
Capt. Chris Jurvig with Tucson Fire tells KGUN9 that the storm blew off sections of the roof at Van Buskirk Elementary School near Park and Fair.
At least five classrooms suffered water damage from the storm.
He also said power lines were down in the parking lot, and 18 people were stuck not being able to leave in their cars.
Tucson Police had to shuttle those 18 people out of the school's parking lot.
No injuries were reported.
