Southern Arizona Border Region Enforcement Team making strides

COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Southeastern Arizona Border Regional Enforcement team (SABRE), announced in July 18, is an inter-agency team that using its manpower to secure more areas along the southern boarder.

Since it was created four months ago, 2,721.7 pounds and 16 plans of marijuana along with nearly 4 ounces of methamphetamine have been confiscated.
 
SABRE has also made 30 arrests and recovered 7 firearms.

With members from Cochise County Sheriff's Office, ICE Homeland Security Investigations and USBP working in unison, law enforcement at the local, state and federal level have been able to spot free pathways for illegal travel.
 
"The results that are listed are a testament to inter-agency cooperation being key to the success of this program. . .we will continue the forward momentum and our efforts can provide a model for others to follow," said Sheriff Mark Dannels this morning.
