South Tucson PD investigating homicide
SOUTH TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 42-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds was found dead in an apartment complex on August 17.
Sgt. Jeff Inorio tells KGUN9 that an officer was flagged down reference a possible deceased person in an apartment.
Officers responded to the 2200 Block of South 4th Avenue. The door to the apartment was open and officers entered to check welfare on the tenant.
Upon entering the apartment, officers located a 42-year-old man lying on the floor deceased from an apparent gunshot wound and it appeared the body had been there for several hours.
Detectives responded and obtained a search warrant for the apartment and collected evidence, said Inorio.
The name of the deceased has not been released until next of kin notification has been made.
South Tucson police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
Police offer up to a $2,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment of the person involved with this shooting.
