PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Sheriff Department's aircraft helped TPD catch a vehicle that had evaded officers.
Deputy Tracy Suitt with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that Anthony Medina was arrested for the car chase that started when TPD was trying to find Medina after he fled from officers at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.
The Sheriff's fixed wing aircraft, Survey 2, was able to find the car and provide information to ground units about the location.
Deputies put tire spikes in the road which flattened all four tires but the car kept driving into the desert.
The vehicle eventually stopped and deputies were able to talk the five people out of the car.
They were all detained and Medina was ultimately arrested for four counts of felony Endangerment, unlawful flight from law enforcement, DUI, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and driving on a suspended license.
