TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - More pieces of the puzzle coming together in the stabbing death of Marcella Slatin. Police say the man who killed her is her own husband. 9OYS obtained the search warrants that gives us a look at what police found inside the Slatin home.
Inside Marcella and Art Slatin's home, police found the murder weapon described as a "silver knife with blood." It's the same knife Slatin says he used to stab his wife twice in the throat in hopes of stopping her attack against him.
Police also collected photographs, a digital camera, eyeglasses, blood swabs, prescription drugs, a cell phone, plus DNA samples and hand swabs. All of it is potential evidence in a case against Slatin. It's evidence that may answer how the husband turned into the suspect in his wife's murder.
9OYS requested a copy of the 911 call made that night, but TPD says that's unavailable at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
9OYS also reached out to the Pima County Attorney's office Thursday to get an update on the case, but they did not return several calls.
