TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Several TUSD schools damaged by last week's Monsoon storms plan to open on time for the school year.

A spokeswoman with TUSD tells KGUN9 that several schools were damaged by Friday's storm.

Van Buskirk Elementary School at 725 E. Fair St. had the worst damage when part of its roof blew off and several classrooms flooded. Power was restored to the school Sunday morning.

Other schools including Carrillo Elementary School had issues with water leaking into the building but there was no serious damage.

A plan was put in place to make repairs and clean up messes. All schools are scheduled to be ready for school to begin on August 1.
