TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Rural/Metro responded to the north east side Sunday after reports of a near drowning.

Officials with Rural/Metro tell KGUN9 that a 2-year-old child was taken to the hospital.

Deputy Tracy Suitt with the Pima County Sheriff's Department says the child fell into the pool at a family friend's house.

Rural/Metro crews were able to get the child breathing when they arrived on scene, before the child was taken to a hospital.

The incident happened in the 4300 block of north Camino Vinorama, near River and Craycroft roads.

No word yet on the condition of the child. KGUN9 will update this story as information becomes available.
