TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police have arrested 52-year-old John Grayling Agee Sr. in connection with a November 2013 homicide.
Earlier this week, police also arrested 36-year-old Shane Blevins in connection with the same homicide.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department says police were called to the area of North Riverside Drive and West Saint Mary's Road regarding a body floating in the wash on November 22, 2013.
Paramedics with the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene and rescue crews extracted the body of 34-year-old Owen McNutt from the wash where he was confirmed deceased.
On November 23, the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.
Detectives also discovered that McNutt had previous gang affiliations, said Widmer. However, gang detectives have determined the incident was not a gang related crime.
The two suspects were known to McNutt, said Widmer.
All three were homeless and lived in the area of the incident. The two suspects lured Mcnutt into the wash where he was assaulted and robbed of his personal belongings. During the course of the robbery, Mcnutt was killed.
Detectives were able to positively identify one of the suspects as Blevins, said Widmer.
On February 18, detectives located Blevins at the Pima County Jail where he was being held for unrelated charges. Detectives added one count of 1st degree murder, one count of felony murder on the 1st degree, one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated robbery to his current charges.
Detectives have identified and are actively seeking a second suspect in this incident.
