Police searching for suspect in hit and run accident
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV)- Tucson Police want the public's help finding a person they call the suspect in a serious east side hit and run accident.
Officers responded to calls of a man hit by a car near Broadway Boulevard and Beverly Avenue Saturday night. This is near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Craycroft Road.
They apparently found the victim with serious injuries. Medical officials took him to a nearby hospital for treatment. The car involved left the scene, Sgt. Chris Widmer said.
Detectives determined the man was kneeling in the median lane of Broadway Boulevard when the vehicle hit him. The suspect continued driving westbound after the collision, witnesses told police.
Officers describe the vehicle involved as an older model, tan or maroon colored sedan. Based on evidence found at the scene, they believe it could be a metallic rust or burnt orange in color, possibly faded.
The car should have damage to the front drivers side wheel well and possibly other front end damage, Widmer said.
