TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police continue to investigate the circumstances behind a shooting that left one man dead Sunday.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department tells KGUN9 they received multiple reports of shots fired at Freedom Park, located in the 5000 block of 29th Street, just before 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
One caller told police that there was a man down, Widmer said.
When officers arrived on scene, they found 30-year-old Marcus Darton suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead on scene, according to Widmer.
Witness reported that there were several cars at the park when it happened and some left prior to officers arriving on scene, said Widmer.
Witnesses were able to give police vehicle descriptions of the suspects that left the scene.
Widmer said that at this time, two people are detained for questioning.
No arrests have been made in connection with this case. Gang Detectives also responded since one of the people involved in this shooting has known gang affiliations.
Widmer said there could be other suspects still out there, but are not ready to release descriptions.
