Police: Father, two children struck by vehicle
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A father, his 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter were struck by a vehicle after attempting to cross the street in a crosswalk on Sunday evening.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that officers responded to Speedway and Alvernon around 6:32 p.m. for the collision.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a vehicle had struck three pedestrians at the intersection.
The father and the 5-year-old suffered minor injuries, but the 7-year-old has life-threatening injuries, said Widmer.
Initial investigation indicates the vehicle was northbound on Alvernon and attempted to turn eastbound onto Speedway when it struck the three pedestrians who were in the crosswalk at the time of the collision, said Widmer.
Traffic Detectives are still investigating the collision.
