CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Pinal County sheriff's deputies pursued and arrested a convicted felon Tuesday morning on suspicion of multiple drug and alcohol-related offenses.
Deputies say Marcos Utimio Turner, 31, was speeding in a 2002 Cadillac sedan in Casa Grande and drifting off the road.
The deputies arrested Turner on suspicion of DUI, unlawful flight and possession of dangerous drugs. Further charges may result following results of a toxicology report.
The deputies spotted Turner, a Casa Grande resident, drifting onto the shoulder of northbound North Thornton Road, north of West Cottonwood Lane in Casa Grande.
Deputies say Turner tried to get away from authorities, speeding up to 85 miles per hour and running red lights while weaving in and out of traffic and driving recklessly. They arrested Turner after he pulled into a commercial parking lot in the 10000 block of north Pinal Ave.
Deputies say they used a taser on Turner after he ignored commands. They found 12.6 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale in the vehicle. Turner was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
Turner was released from prison in February 2013 after serving time for manslaughter.
