TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) is taking part in an "Empty the Shelter" challenge.

The $100K Challenge is a contest in which 50 shelters across the country compete to break their own records saving the lives of animals

PACC was selected as one of those shelters and is competing for a total of $600,000 in prize grants.

PACC needs help from the Southern Arizona community to meet their goals and win the 2014 ASPCA competition.

The goal is to get 5,000 pets adopted from June through August.

PACC and KGUN9 have teamed up up again and will feature at least one friendly pet that is up for adoption each day.

The PACC shelter is located at 4000 North Silverbell Road.

Today's featured animals:

  • AMILIA: ID#A489540 is a four year old beagle and she is looking for a new home. She is ready to lose some weight, get out in the world and enjoy it. She would  make a perfect dog for a small house.
  • JONAH: ID#A489281 is a 1 1/2-year-old. He is beautiful and just wants to be cuddled. He is looking for a new family who will make him feel save and loved.
  • SOLSTICE: ID# A488596 is three years old, and is jaguar like. Stunning, friendly and adventurous.
