PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix police officer has been wounded in a shooting in the eastern portion of the city and authorities say two of the four possible suspects are in custody.

Phoenix police say the officer was taken to a hospital after the shooting, which occurred about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

A bystander also was shot and wounded.

Police say two of the four suspects are women.

The name of the police officer and his condition isn't immediately available.

Scottsdale police are also investigating the shooting, which happened in a parking lot of a Walgreens store at 56th Street and Thomas.

Detectives believe the shooting might be connected to an armed robbery earlier Tuesday at a Phoenix restaurant about two miles away.
