Phoenix man arrested after baby son drowns in tub
PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a 3-month-old infant has drowned in a bathtub and the boy's father has been arrested.
Phoenix police say 19-year-old Carlos H. Castillo was being booked into jail Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of second-degree murder and child abuse.
Authorities say Phoenix Castillo was found at about 10:45 a.m. by his grandmother in the bathtub of a home near Van Buren Street and 27th Avenue.
The grandmother began CPR until a police officer arrived to continue lifesaving measures.
The child was taken to a Phoenix hospital, where he died.
Carlos Castillo told investigators he placed all three of his children in the bathtub with no water plug in and turned on the water.
Police say the children were left unattended as the father went into another room and fell asleep.
