Charges expand against 'fake' lipo suction staff
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Grand Jury indicted three people last week on charges relating to an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration revealing botched cosmetic surgeries.
Authorities with the DEA tell KGUN9 Gustavo Nunez, Ilda Garcia and Carlote Monroy were indicted by a Grand Jury on 14 counts.
These charges include conspiracy, illegally conducting a criminal enterprise, fraudulent schemes, aggravated assault, practicing medicine without a license, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of a prescription only drug for sale, money laundering and obstructing a criminal investigation.
These charges come from an investigation that showed how the three were performing cosmetic surgeries out of a Tucson warehouse.
At least two of the woman who received surgeries had to go to an emergency room for complications.
