TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man was shot in the finger after two men tried to enter his apartment using force.

Deputy Tracy Suitt tells KGUN9 that on September 7, deputies responded to an unknown problem at the Park Place Apartments, located at 11 East Orange Grove Road.

When deputies arrived, they learned two males tried to force entry into an apartment, said Suitt.

A 19-year-old victim, who lives in the apartment, kept the individuals from entering by holding the
door.

The suspects put a hand gun through an opening in the door and discharged it, striking the victim in the finger, said Suitt.

After firing the weapon, the suspects fled the area.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information about this incident or the possible suspects is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
