UPDATE: NWS issues flood advisories for Pima, Pinal County

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for parts of Pima County. 

The advisory is in effect for northeastern Pima County, southeastern Pinal County, northeastern Cochise County and southwestern Graham County until 11:00 p.m. Monday. 

The National Weather Service in Tucson has also now issued a flash flood warning for northeastern Pima County and southeastern Pinal County. 

Strong thunderstorms dropped heavy rain from just south of Oracle through the north and central Catalina Mountains. 

Small streams, ponds, and other low lying areas could flood. Motorist should avoid driving through these areas if at all possible.
