TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Paramedics responded to a multiple car accident on Tucson's northwest side.
Capt. Adam Goldberg with the Northwest Fire District tells KGUN9 that two cars collided near Sunset Road and La Cholla Blvd., Monday afternoon.
A GMC SUV with one occupant collided with a Chevy Cobalt carrying three adults and one infant, Goldberg said.
Paramedics had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver from the Chevy Colbalt. After he was freed from the car, crews transported the man to the hospital with critical injuries.
Another adult in the car was also transported to the hospital.
A woman and the infant were not injured, according to Goldberg.
The occupant in the SUV suffered only minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff's Department are on scene investigating the cause of the accident.
