TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A 28-year-old man wanted for a 2011 death was arrested by Mexican authorities Friday.

Deputy Tracy Suitt with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that Reyes Jovany Miranda was wanted for the death of 25-year-old Ramon Jesus Steele in 2011.

Suitt says in June of that year, Miranda was driving a car that collided with a tree in the 2300 block of west Drexel Road. Steele was one of the passengers in the car.

Miranda fled the scene on foot, leaving his two injured passengers behind. Steele died from his injuries. The other passenger survived.

Miranda was given to the Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Marshal's by Mexican authorities at 9:30 p.m. on Friday and transported to the Pima County Jail. He was booked on one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, manslaughter and aggravated assault.
