TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A loss prevention office was stun gunned by a robber as two suspects were attempting to flee the scene of the crime.
Deputy Courtney Rodriguez with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that on September 21, deputies responded to the Safeway at 7110 North Oracle Road, regarding an armed robbery.
A Safeway loss prevention officer observed a female suspect place two bottles of liquor into her purse, as her companion stood by, said Rodriguez.
When the suspects walked out of the store, the loss prevention officer stepped in front of them and identified himself.
The woman reached into her purse and pulled out an electronic stun gun device. She pressed the device against the chest of the loss prevention officer and activated it, causing him to fall down, said Rodriguez.
This incapacitated the store employee and both suspects left the area in a white vehicle.
The female suspect is described as a light skinned African American, wearing a green shirt, jean shorts, and black tennis shoes. The male suspect is described as Hispanic, wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and a black hat.
Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to call
88-CRIME or 911.
