TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Eye doctors are joining together for a single vision...warning people about performing online eye self-exams.
These tests promote themselves on websites as being able to help diagnose some conditions. They can come in the form of charts or diagrams, but they are far from accurate.
9 On Your Side went to a local ophthalmologist to find out why.
One of the main issues with the online tests? They're not standardized. Doctor Diaz says that the resolution of your screen or the pixels on your computer can throw measurements off.
The best solution? Make an appointment with an eye doctor who can perform the tests professionally.
I'm Stella Inger. I hope you'll join Guy Atchley and me tonight at 5, 6, and 10.
Have a great day!
