Local boy is Santa's little helper, collecting teddy bears for sick children
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A special little boy from Tucson is also helping to bring some christmas cheer to local children.
6-year-old Garrett is collecting stuffed bears for kids who will be spending this Cchristmas away from home.
All of these fluffy friends will go to kids at Children's Diamond Center and Tucson Medical Center.
His inspiration came straight from the man in red.
"The elves just sent me a text last year."
The text asked Garrett to help sick children, so he and his mom helped donate 158 bears in 2012.
This year, he has been even more successful, collecting 257 bears so far. And his mother says they should be breaking 300 bears by delivery time.
