PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in northern Arizona are looking to recover items plundered from a pirate ship display in Prescott.
Yavapai County sheriff's officials say numerous knives, swords and jewelry were stolen after thieves forced entry into the ship's interior.
The homebuilt display is used by the victim's family and Prescott-area schoolchildren who occasionally tour the vessel.
Among the items stolen is a small wooden box from Spain that was filled with old European coins.
Other items missing are a silver Marine sword with an engraved blade and black scabbard, a U.S. Cavalry sword with silver scabbard and gold citation cord attached and a 1953 Japanese 1,000 yen paper bill.
Sheriff's officials said Thursday that they don't have any suspects in the theft yet.
