TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - He is a man trusted to look out for your kids, but instead he is accused of preying on them.
Police say 31 year-old Aaron Garibay secretly snapped cell phone pictures of a teen girl while she was changing inside a thrift store dressing room.
What's worse? TUSD administrators confirm, he is the president of a local elemenatry school's PTA.
Stores owners declined to go on camera, but they tell 9OYS their surveillance system doesnt lie.
It is a tool for communication with the power of exploitation.
"There was an adult male taking photographs of the store," said Tucson police Sgt. Pete Dugan.
Police say on Monday, April 14th Garibay used his cell phone to spy on a 17 year-old girl when she couldnt be more vulnerable.
The call came in that afternoon from the 22nd Street Thrift Store.
The victim was changing in a dressing room while her mom waited outside.
"She happened to look up, and she noticed a cell phone pointing down at her from a neighboring dressing room," said Sgt. Dugan.
Records show Garibay has been on the PTA at Steele Elementary, as a parent, for years.
Currently, he's their commander in chief.
Those who know him say they're shocked.
"He's a great dad," one neighbor told us. "He's very nice. I'd trust him with anything."
TUSD tells 9OYS they did not alert parents about Garibay's arrest because he is not an employee. He's a parent.
However, they add administrators are looking further into this incident.
Aaron Garibay faces one count of voyuerism. That's a class 5 felony.
