TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Some homeless people are getting temporary work while the Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase is in town.
City of Tucson hired Primavera Works, which helps the homeless, to supplement their janitorial staff. The workers will be paid about $8.00 an hour.
Primavera said they're always trying to help the local homeless get back on their feet.
"What our temp work provides to the individual is self worth and that they do matter and offers them assurance," Rick Sumner of Primavera Works said.
The Gem Show is in town until February 16.
