Four arrested in carjacking investigation
Alejandro Luis Rubalcaba, 19, was arrested by deputies and charged with unlawful use of means of transportation, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies arrested four men Monday after someone's car was stolen at gunpoint.
Deputy Jesus Banuelos with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that Alejandro Medina Robles, 19, Richard Biebrich, 18, Alejandro Luis Rubalcaba, 19 and Michael Joseph Butierez, 18 were all arrested as suspects in this case.
Banuelos says deputies responded to the Quik Mart at 4280 E. Benson Highway on Monday after a report of a carjacking.
They learned that the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his vehicle.
Deputies searched for the stolen car but could not find it.
They received a tip a few hours later about the location of the stolen vehicle. When they arrived at that location, they made a traffic stop on the stolen car.
The driver of the car did not stop and deputies were involved in a brief pursuit before the car stopped and four men fled the car in all directions.
Deputies apprehended all four suspects with the help of the canine unit.
All four men were booked on a variety of charges. The investigation is ongoing.
