FLORENCE (KNXV-TV) - Florence school officials took an Anthem Elementary student to a treatment facility Friday after they found a list wishing harm to other students in his backpack, our affiliate KNXV reports.
The child did not actually hurt anyone on the list, but he did say that the people he listed on the first page of his notebook would die, Florence Unified School District told KNXV.
The book was reportedly a Japanese Anime notebook called the "Death Note." It was described as a "spell list," not a "hit list."
The child was also having suicidal thoughts and told another student he was going to harm himself, officials reported to ABC 15.
An Anthem Elementary School parent told KNXV the principal made a robocall to parents to tell them about this apparent threat.
Officials said the school followed all protocols to make sure all students were safe, officials said.
