Firefighters searching for gas leak on southwest side
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Firefighters are responding to a gas leak on Tucson's southwest side.
Someone called 9-1-1 to report smelling a strong natural gas odor near Kino Parkway and Winsett Street at around 9:00 p.m. Thursday, according to Capt. Barrett Baker with the Tucson Fire Department.
Tucson fire responded to the scene and noticed the strong smell as well. They ordered a full hazmat team to respond to the area, Baker said.
Crews have now canceled the full alarm, but they are still working to find the leak.
Baker tells KGUN9 that crews have not ordered any evacuations.
