FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Firefighters have gained considerable control of a wildfire burning south of Flagstaff near the Canyon Vista Campground.

Coconino National Forest spokeswoman Heather Noel says crews had the 175-acre Fisher Fire about 50 percent contained Saturday afternoon.

Noel says firefighters are now searching for hotspots to put out and securing lines around the fires perimeter.

No structures are threatened and no evacuations will be necessary.

More than 100 crew members have been battling the fire since it began Friday around 3 p.m. near the Fisher Canyon area.

The cause is still under investigation.

She says anyone doing recreational activities should check for any trail or road closures.

Forest Service officials say the fire is in the same area of a wildfire from last year.
