TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The victims of last month's brutal attack inside Chiricahua National Monument is recovering.

According to the family of Karen Gonzales, doctors moved the 59-year-old from the hospital to a rehabilitation facility in Tucson. There, they say, she will be undergoing speech, physical and occupational therapy.

Her son tells 9OYS, his mother is suffering from short term memory loss, but she does know she was attacked.

The attack happened nearly three weeks ago. Deputies say someone attacked the longtime National Park service employee, leaving her unconscious inside a picnic area restroom.

The Gonzales family has set up a recovery fund. They say donations will help pay for bills. The account is set up at Compass Bank. The account number is 6716044589.

No arrests have been made in connection with the assault.
