Experts to answer Medicare questions as part of national education week
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson seniors, their families and caregivers have two chances on Tuesday for experts to answer their Medicare questions.
UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions is hosting a morning and afternoon session at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. These session fall in the middle of National Medicare Education Week.
Now is the time for seniors to review their coverage because between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7 they can enroll in a new plan, which will kick in on Jan 1.
When seniors change plans, UnitedHealthcare Business Planning Manager Alison Wilson said they should make sure alternative providers cover their primary care doctors and specialists.
"Snow birds" or those who travel a lot should look into whether their coverage travels with them, Wilson said.
Another factor to keep in mind when changing health care providers is whether you expect increased medical expenses in the next year.
