TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Emotional -- loud -- patriotic: That was the scene at Tucson International Airport Tuesday night where around 1,000 people gathered to welcome home the heroes of World War II.
More than 70 WWII veterans stepped off the plane and into a crowd of pure appreciation.
These men and women just got home from their honor flight to the crowd, thanking them for their service. So far, this is the largest honor flight.
The group traveled to Washington, D.C. to take in the sights, especially the WWII Memorial.
