TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Two people are displaced from their home just east of downtown after the back porch of a triplex caught fire.
Capt. Barrett Baker tells KGUN9 that firefighters responded to the 100 block of North Euclid Avenue after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting flames just after 4:30 a.m.
Fire crews had the fire under control in 12 minutes.
Baker describes the home as a triplex and that one unit was vacant. The other two each had one resident sleeping inside when the fire broke out.
Medics are treating one of the residents for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were concerned since the flames were threatening a power line that runs into the home, but luckily the line did not catch fire.
Investigators are now on scene trying to figure out what sparked the fire.
Building safety inspectors are working to determine whether the two residents will be displaced, said Baker.
