Crews rescue person from vehicle stuck in running water
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One person was rescued from shallow water on Tuesday morning.
Capt. Grant Cersarek with Rural/Metro tells KGUN9 that crews performed a shallow water rescue near Drexel and Country Club around 9:30 a.m.
There was one occupant in a vehicle that stalled while crossing running water.
When crews arrived on scene, they found the vehicle with water running above the rear bumper.
The crew walked out to the vehicle to assist the driver, Cesarek said. The occupant was provided a life vest and was assisted to dry ground in a coordinated fashion.
Please avoid running water while traveling. Waiting for water subside or taking a route of higher ground will keep you from being rescued by the fire department or meeting your local law officials.
