Court upholds Ariz. law on "for sale' signs

CREATED Sep. 5, 2013

PHOENIX (AP) - A state appeals court has rejected a constitutional challenge to an Arizona law that bars enforcement of convents or other property restrictions that prohibit posting of "for sale" signs.
The Court of Appeals decision upholds a Coconino County judge's ruling that a Flagstaff master-planned community couldn't prohibit the owners of a lot from posting it for sale.
The community's association had argued that the law enacted in 2009 violated constitutional protections for contracts.
The Court of Appeals said the law doesn't significantly trample on the expectations of those involved in the case.
