CREATED Oct. 28, 2013

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Chandler police say four boys are accused of abusing a kitten during the incident that occurred Oct. 14.

Police they reviewed surveillance video from a trailer park after getting a call about animal cruelty.

Sgt. Joe Sgt. Joe Favazzo says the video shows the kitten being kicked, struck with a ball and knocked around before its limp body was thrown into a pool.

Favazzo says conducting interviews for the investigation took some time and that the four boys were arrested Sunday on a charge of animal cruelty.

Their names were not released but police say the oldest is 12 years old.

Two other boys were present but one did not participate in the alleged abuse. The other wasn't arrested because he was only 7 years old.
