Border Protection officers intercept more than $400,000 worth of cocaine

SAN LUIS, Ariz (KGUN9-TV)- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested two Mexican nationals at the Port of San Luis Tuesday, after they found 45 pounds of cocaine in their vehicle.

Officials referred the 33-year-old man and his 23-year-old girlfriend for a secondary inspection when they tried to cross the border. This is where they discovered 18 packages of cocaine in their car, worth approximately $410,000.

Customs officers seized the drugs and the couple was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
