Big baby boom

CREATED Aug. 20, 2013

Half-way through the pregnancy and I haven’t thought once about labor for more than a minute.  That is until I read an article about a new trend in the delivery room.

More mothers are giving birth to “supersized” babies.  The Huffington Post headline read, “Bigger Baby Trend Worries Doctors As Health Concerns Mount Over Supersized Deliveries."  Yikes!

A baby girl was born tipping the scales at 13.6 pounds earlier this month, just weeks earlier another baby girl was born naturally at 13.4 pounds and last year, a baby boy was born weighing 15.5 pounds.

Is that unsettling to any other moms-to-be?
