VAIL, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies have arrested 18-year-old Sean Rivera in connection with an attempted robbery in Vail.

Chief Deputy Chris Nanos tells KGUN9 that thanks to numerous 88-CRIME and 911 tips, Rivera was arrested and charged on one count of attempted robbery.

On July 20, deputies responded to the Walgreens located at 13542 East Colossal Cave Road regarding a suspicious person.

When deputies arrived, they learned a man has entered the store and asked the store employee for a pack of cigarettes.

As the store clerk rang up the cigarettes, the suspect told her he left his wallet in his car, threatened her, and told the employee to empty the cash register drawer, Nanos said.

Nanos said the suspect did not get away with any money or store items, and the store employee was not injured.
