TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - When Bianca Beltran got a letter from Pima Animal Care Center in the mail Wednesday night, she thought it would be a donation request.
To her surprise, the letter was telling her the shelter had found her dog, Mockie, that had been missing for four years.
She rushed to P.A.C.C., thinking her old friend wouldn't even remember her.
"I [said] Mockie! And he [stood] up," Bianca told Nine On Your Side with tears in her eyes.
Mockie may not be as slim as Bianca remembers: "We need to be on diet together."
But, the pup would not leave her side.
So, what happened in those four years apart?
Mockie had been living with an older couple who could not take care of the dog anymore.
The woman dropped Mockie off at P.A.C.C., and when shelter workers scanned Mockie for a microchip, well, here we are.
"Yesterday, I feel like probably I could have a heart attack," Bianca said. "But I can tell you, it can be the most beautiful heart attack that I could have."
After beating cancer, losing a sister, and struggling in a tough economy, Bianca said now, her outlook on life has changed.
"I believe more in god," she said. "Because I always prayed for this."
