TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One woman was seriously injured after being involved in a two vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon.
Capt. Adam Goldberg tells KGUN9 that crews responded to the intersection of Ina and La Cholla for a two car collision.
Reports indicated that one of the vehicles was on fire with a victim trapped.
When crews arrived on scene, a bystander had used a general purpose fire extinguisher to put out the small fire in the engine compartment of the overturned Honda CRV SUV.
Crews used extrication techniques to free the elderly female from the vehicle and she was transported to the trauma center at UAMC in serious, but stable condition.
The second vehicle was occupied by an elderly female who suffered minor injuries and was also transported by a ground ambulance to a local hospital.
PCSO was in the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.
