FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Northern Arizona University has received $600,000 from the National Science Foundation to help transfer students earn degrees in engineering, science and math.

The grant announced Wednesday by Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick will go to students transferring from community and tribal colleges in the region. The scholarships will be awarded to academically talented students with financial needs who are working toward baccalaureate degrees at NAU's College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences.

Kirkpatrick says the scholarships will help the university increase the number of engineering, science and math graduates entering the workforce.
