Three cited in Colossal Cave mountain lion poaching
VAIL, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Arizona Game and Fish officials say they now know who illegally shot and killed a mountain lion last month in Colossal Cave Mountain Park.
Officials say three different people have been cited. They are all Vail residents. The citations range from taking wildlife from a closed area to false reporting to law enforcement.
The poachers will likely face anything from fines to possible jail time. They can also lose their hunting privileges for life.
A Game and Fish spokesperson tells 9OYS the 65-70 pound female mountain lion was shot multiple times. Officials do not believe the mountain lion was acting aggressive.
