TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of southern Arizona.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northeastern Cochise County.
The warning expired at 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to the NWS.
Now, a small stream flood advisory is in effect until 9:45 p.m. Monday.
The advisory affects southeastern Pima County and northeastern Santa Cruz County, according to the National Weather Service.
Excessive runoff from a third to three quarters of an inch of rain that fell in these parts will cause elevated levels in washes, streams, ponds and water on country roads, the NWS says.
Motorists should avoid driving into areas where the water covers the roadway.
