TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A 46-year-old man died Friday morning after his vehicle collided with a utility pole.

Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department tells KGUN9 that Ken Josephson crashed into a utility pole near Country Club and Third Street at around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Emergency medical personnel transported Josephson to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

Detectives with the Traffic Investigations Unit learned that Josephson's 1986 Toyota pickup truck was traveling northbound on Country Club Road at Third Street.

The vehicle drifted across the southbound lanes of Country Club, jumped the curb and hit a wooded utility pole on the west side of the street.

Early indications suggest alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but the investigation is on-going, Widmer said.
