TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - As we speak, millions of Americans are taking time to celebrate our nation's freedom.
And it turns out, freedom can be fattening.
We are so sorry to have to tell you this.
According to caloriecount.com, the average '4th of July' meal, including hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and so on, comes in at a whopping 1,713 calories and 98.7 grams of fat!
That's more than 85% of your recommended daily calorie intake and 150% of the recommened fat intake.
"People pig out and eat massive amounts of meat," said one woman.
"That's just the time you're supposed to go all out," said one girl.
"Cause I know I'm gonna. I'm going to eat more than I normally do," one man told us.
Among the fattiest of '4th of July' foods?
No shockers here: hamburgers, pork spare ribs and deli potato salad.
