MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Massive bulls are auctioned off at the Marana Stockyards, but Friday's big earner was a little calf with a big cause.
The stockyards auctioned him off to benefit Dallin Wengert, the local vet's son. He was in a terrible car accident in Utah that left him in a coma for days.
Back in Arizona, he's making slow but steady progress in the hospital.
"I am very happy with the turnout," stockyards owner Clay Parsons said. "But what would make us happier is if Dallin keeps improving and keeps getting better. The money will help him tremendously."
The calf brought in $7,500 in donations for Dallin. No donation was too small: Some little cowboys gave every dollar they had.
