One man dies in early morning shooting

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One man died and another man is in stable condition following a shooting early Monday morning.

Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that 18-year-old Ricky Campbell died Monday afternoon as a result of injuries he sustained in the shooting.

Widmer says someone called 911 around 12:30 a.m. to reports shot fired near 29th and Craycroft.

When officers arrived on scene, they found two vehicles with two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The second victim, a 25-year-old man was transported in stable condition, said Widmer.

Officers believe the original shooting may have taken place in the 5700 block of 28th Street.

Detectives and the TPD gang unit responded to the scene to investigate.
